Masorti Olami - World Council of Conservative/Masorti Synagogues and MERCAZ Olami (the Zionist organization of the Conservative/Masorti Movement) are pleased to introduce this special two disc educational kit as a courtesy to you. The kit contains a movie showing the work of our movement around the world, our November 2008 Masorti Olami Tribute Concert in New York (including our ad journal), and a second disc on “Judaism and the Environment.”

Why a CD about the environment? In the book of Genesis, Adam and Eve are commanded to serve and protect the Garden of Eden. The value and responsibility of taking care of our environment is emphasized in the Torah and in our rabbinic literature. This CD presents useful and illuminating resources on environmental conservation and activism from a Jewish perspective, highlighting the Conservative/Masorti position and environmental challenges facing Israel today. Contributors include environmental experts, rabbis, educators and community leaders from the Masorti/Conservative movement and the Jewish world at large.

We thank Ehud and Tanya Zion Waldoks, Judaism and Environment editors, and Shlomo Lipshitz, video editor, for their excellent work, as well as those who contributed their ideas and words of Torah to this project.
